PROJECT 17 - WATERCOLOR - Drawing three

Objectives:

Task:

1. Using one of the drawings done earlier as pen and ink or pencil, redo as a watercolor.  

2.  Begin by doing a thumbnail value study first, altering the original drawing to provide greater clarity, composition.  

3.  Follow the value study with a quick overlay with color pencil to get an idea of color required for painting

4.  After the value and color study as thumbnail, place the watercolor onto block with  washes over the pen and ink or pencil drawing.

5.  Both thumbnail study and watercolor will be presented at crits on due date.

Materials needed:

Watercolor paper (block paper is suggested)
Watercolor brushes
jars for water
Palette for mixing colors
Pencils

Deadline:

Assigned: Tuesday, Oct. 18
Due: Thursday, Oct. 20; beginning of class

Approximate time to complete: 8 - 10 hours
