During the second semester of the fourth year, interior architecture and product design students can earn a full-semester of credit by participating in a professional internship. The 30-week paid internship allows the students to gain a professional perspective while working in their chosen emphasis of interior architecture. Students may also choose a 3-month unmonitored internship. No credit is granted for this experience. To ensure maximum benefit to the employer, the students, and the Department of Interior Architecture and Product Design, the academically monitored internships extend from January 1 to August 1, and interns must be compensated. The sponsor is asked to provide a variety of experience to the students and report to the internship coordinator twice during the internship period.
