Visions in Green: The Process of a Plan

is a lecture sponsored by the Kansas State University College of Architecture, Planning, and Design. The presentation will be given by Kevin King and Julie Wienberg of Kansas City based architecture and planning firm HNTB. It is scheduled for Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at 4:00 p.m. in the Little Theatre of the K-State Student Union. The public is invited without charge.

The speakers will discuss the recent Kansas State University campus master planning effort, which they led. They will review the planning process and will outline its tentative conclusions.

Kevin King, an Associate Vice President at HNTB, has extensive higher education design and planning experience. His process oriented design techniques invite and involve the client, in the process of design, to best meet the goals of the client. King has developed comprehensive master plans for Central Missouri State University, Montana State University- Billings, the Kansas City Art Institute, Southeast Missouri State University, Kansas State University, and the University of Missouri- Kansas City. His role on the Kansas State University Master Plan was as chief planner.

For the majority of her career, Julie Wienberg has focused her talents on higher education facilities. Her capabilities range from research and development for design and feasibility projects to client facilitation and project implementation. She received the Bachelor of Architecture in 1994 from K-State. Her role on the Kansas State University Master Plan was as project manager.
